Good morning / day / evening, motorsport fans!

It came to my attention that there was a bit of an incident on the old prompt post. I'd like to take a moment of your time, if you'll indulge me, just to reiterate a couple of things.

I do not wish to alienate anyone, and you're (almost) all anon so I don't know one of you from another, so please do not think that this is an attack on anyone - I hope you'll think of it as more of a friendly nudge in the ribs if you were involved in the incident, or even if you weren't, let this serve as a gently cautionary reminder.

First off, I'd like to point out to everyone, members or newcomers, lurkers or stalkers, that we have a rule post, and it is reiterated at the top of every prompt post that it is advisable to read the aforementioned post, as there are literally only a handful of them to have a gander at before you go about prompting / filling to your hearts' content. I don't ask for you to comment and say you've read the rules (such a venture would be fruitless, as you're all anonymous), so I don't think this an unreasonable request - as rules go, they comply with common sense and every day courtesy. Simplified, they are: "NOH8. RISE ABOVE ANY HATE AND JAY WILL MOD-HAT IT OUT OF EXISTENCE IN DUE COURSE. SCROLLBAR IS YOUR FRIEND".

There are casual rules, such as the one about squealing "seconded" (you'll all have noticed there are a generous handful of seconded comments sneaking around the prompt posts), which I'm not going to kick up a fuss about because they do serve to bounce ideas around a bit on occasion, but the one most important is at the very top:

Character / pairing bashing of any kind will not be tolerated. If you don't want a certain character / pairing, kindly say so politely.

This applies to everyone: writer, prompter, reader. Your personal opinions are your own. Hate Vettel? Fabulous - I don't care, just don't litter our meme with it. Can't stand Mark / Fernando? Don't give a rat's, just don't post such an opinion in this community.

Now, this is not to say I want to stifle creativity. If you have a work of fiction which involves Romain Grosjean playing a role equivalent to that of Lord Voldemort, then go for it - at the end of the day, it's complete fabrication, as the community disclaimer states.

I will not tolerate (and more often than not, your fellow fans will not tolerate) any character or pairing bashing of any form. I will delete any comment found to be in offense of this rule whether it is the most popular prompt since sliced bread or not. It, and any responding comments, will be lost to my wondrous delete button, with a request to the original poster to repost their prompt without the hate.

There is no need for hate.

Even I, as the mod, have pairings and drivers I really do not like, but I'm not going to throw a paddy if someone else likes them.

I would request, in future, that any comment found to be in direct violation be brought to myself in order that I may delete or screen offending comments as soon as possible so as few people as possible are hurt by it. One particular writer of a particular pairing was offended by this original instance so much that they considered stopping writing in this community. This is exactly the opposite feeling I want anyone to have in here.

This has gone on a bit long. The reason this isn't behind a cut is because I felt this a fairly important matter.

TL;DR: This is not fandomsecret - this is motorskink, and I'll politely request you all remember that.

Anon commenting, as ever, is on, as are screened comments - comments, questions and qualms are welcomed.

New post! Both due to the fact we reached 10 pages on the previous post and because there was a bit of flaming going on. Please allow me to re-enforce the big text below by making it even bigger and bolder:

Before we begin, please ensure you have read and are willing to abide by the community rules. There aren't many, and they're relatively simple and straight-forward, but it's better to know your boundaries than not to ;)

Thank you.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled kink:

You may still fill for prompts on previous prompt posts, but you may not still prompt in that post. Anyone found to be doing so will have their comment deleted. New prompts go in this post :)

Prompt Post 001 | Prompt Post 002
Prompt Masterlist

Rough Guide to the 'Meme
  1.     Comment anonymously (or not, but with some of the prompts we're used to seeing...anon is generally a good idea) with your request. Include whatever details you deem relevant - pairing, kink, specific idea, etc. For example:
F1; Webber/Vettel. Winning and losing. Hurt/comfort.
      (i)   all kinks welcome - from bdsm to snuggling up close. whatever you want.
(ii)  all drivers / riders / bosses / personnel / media / etc, from any season at all in any area of motorsport are welcome.
  2.     Author(s) reply either anonymously or not, depending on personal preference and brazenness, to your request.

NOTE     : Some prompts may be more popular than others and may have more than one fill. Don't be disheartened!

Misc Info:
♠     Due to the 4,300 character limit restriction LJ places on comments, this sort of thing works easiest for drabbles and ficlets, but if you've written longer, you're more than welcome to post - please ensure you number your comments in the subject box, however. Saves a bit of confusion ;)
♠     If your fic is an absolutely bizarre length (and believe me, it happens), you are welcome to either host it outside of the comm and link to it in response to the original prompt (if you're comfortable with being un-Anon), or you can email it to me at the email address provided on the contact post and I'll post it to the comm Anonymously for you.
♠     There is no limit on the number of words you can write from a prompt - you can write anything from 100 word drabbles (though you may get a bit of a funny look for it!) to 10k masterpieces (...probably prompting more funny looks, but plenty of enthusiasm)!
♠     There is no limit on the number of requests you write for, or on the amount you can write for each one. You can write a bazillion drabbles on Webber/Vettel's hurt/comfort if you so desire.
♠     You may write as soon as you see a request you like.
♠     You may write for your own requests.

In effort to keep things neat and tidy, I will periodically post new prompt posts. Provisionally, let's say that once we have 10 pages of prompt/response, I will make a new post. You must then start requesting in that post, though you may still write for the first.

Anon commenting is on! Go, go, go!

Please Note!!! Because LJ is particularly irritating, there are no longer subject lines for comments. Please be considerate and warn for any potential triggers in the first line of your responses to prompts. Thank you.

Prompt Masterlist! It took forever (er, I only started it today, shh), but it's finally here! I've even alphabetised it and organised it by racing series!

It's a Google Spreadsheet, everyone who pleases should be able to open it and have a look.

You can CTRL (or CMD) + F for a surname if you're looking for a particular driver ;) (Particularly for the likes of Vettel S, Webber M and Villeneuve G - those guys seem to get trapped behind others with surnames beginning with the rest of the alphabet...)

It's here: handy link~!

You'll notice the tabs down at the bottom. First is for all the prompts on Post 1, second for Post 2, and it'll continue that way. Otherwise I'll probably lose what's left of the scraps of my sanity.

A few names / etc have question marks beside them - that's because I'm not sure who you meant. If you'd care to correct me, anon/screened commenting is on :) (Reference the prompt or row number; I'm not psychic!)

Happy Holidays, ficcers!

Because the majority of posters/commenters in this community are Anonymous and don't have deletion or editing rights to even their own comments, here's where you let me know if I've skipped over a comment that should have been deleted.

If you've posted a double comment, or left one in the wrong place, let me know here!

I try to comb through periodically and delete any wayward comments, but I'm human and I sometimes miss 'em. Link me to your comment and I'll see to it that it's deleted.

Comments to this post are screened and, as ever, anon posting is on.

FAQ's

Q: Can we repost old prompts from the old meme?
A: Of course! Go on right ahead! You can post old prompts if you're still searching for someone to write about it, or you can repost them because you yourself were in the middle of writing for one.

Q: I understand what you mean with the rule about trying to restrain ourselves from commenting with "seconded" to prompts, but commenting to other peoples' fills is okay, right?
A: I completely understand the want to comment on a particular prompt to show your support for it - I was guilty of it a few times in the old meme, but I wanted to make things seem a little fairer, because I myself have had prompts that have gone completely ignored, and when you see everyone else has "seconded!" and you don't, it's sort of disheartening. So I'm sorry that it had to become a rule, because I do understand the excitement about new prompts, but I've lurked in other kink memes, and this generally seems to be a fairer system.
And yes! Yes, of course you can comment fills, whether they were yours or not - I won't stop people flailing over actual writing that goes on - so yes, commenting on the fills is definitely more than okay :)

Q: I'm writing a piece for a prompt I found on the meme and I'm really getting into it - I want to expand the piece and create a whole universe for it, having further unprompted pieces around the original. Is it okay for me to post these to my journal and link them in other places?
      A: Of course!
At the end of the day, everything you write is your own - those words came from your mind and your mind alone, so they're yours to do with what you will, whether it's posting it on the meme, your journal, the f1 fiction communities, etc. :)
Personally, I think of the meme as a starting point, something to get my creative coals burning: if a prompt inspires you, and then you're continually inspired by that prompt or what you wrote for that prompt originally, then you're definitely free to keep writing and do with it what you want.

Q: What is meant by "character / pairing bashing"? Does this mean I can't post my story?
A: Not at all! Fictionally speaking, you could make Bernie Ecclestone a fluffy pink bunny rabbit and Sebastian Vettel an evil overlord of unparallelled cookie-stealing horridness. What is meant by character bashing is that I will not (and more often than not, your fellow members will not) tolerate any comments such as "OMG I am so fed up with [pairing]!!!!" or "[character] is lame - don't fill this prompt with him!", etcetera. It extends to prompts and responses, but in the world of fiction, technically anything goes. You don't have to be outright mean about someone / a pairing in order to request they aren't written into something.
At the end of the day, I'm a believer in "writer knows best" - who knows your characters better than you? No one. If a prompt says "I'd prefer no Bruno Senna" or "I really don't like Rob/Felipe", but you have the burning desire to write one of those, then fill it and you're free to post it elsewhere! The prompter is putting in a request, but remember you're doing the legwork!

These are general guidelines to the community as a whole. Please follow them or your comment will be deleted.

For Prompters:
  1.     Character / pairing bashing of any kind will not be tolerated. If you don't want a certain character / pairing, kindly say so politely.
  2.     One pairing or prompt per comment - no more. Got several prompts? Post several comments.
  3.     You are encouraged to try filling at least one prompt for every few you make.
  4.     As mentioned in prompt posts, occasionally, a fresh post will be made and you must stop requesting in the old post and start requesting in the new one - this is just to keep things fresh and easier to navigate.

For Writers:
  1.     Please warn for potential triggers such as non con or suicide in the first line of your responses. You may use your own initiative to work out what could be construed as a heavy trigger, but if you're in doubt, you can come to me and I'll offer any assistance I can.
  2.     Slash, femslash, het, onesomes, twosomes, threesomes, etc, all welcome here!
  3.     Multiple responses are O.K.! Someone fill a prompt you have a bunny for, or got more than one bunny for a prompt? Write it and fill it again!
  4.     Fics of all length, shape and size are welcome.
  5.     You may continue to fill prompts from old request posts.

For Readers:
  1.     Character / pairing bashing of any kind will not be tolerated.
  2.     Please try to restrain yourselves from squawking "seconded!!!", etc - this is mostly to not alienate members who may post a more unpopular prompt.
  3.     Please try to remember that this, at the end of it all, is a kink meme. Kinks come in more forms than even I can dream up, so please - if something doesn't take your fancy, just scroll on by. :)

For Everyone:
  1.     Have fun!
  2.     No hate!

Any blatant disregard for the above will result in comment deletion.
